Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to four points on Saturday as they thrashed Bavarian rivals Nuremberg 4-0 at the Allianz Arena.
The home side took the lead in the second minute as striker Mario Gomez netted before Bastian Schweinsteiger doubled the lead 17 minutes later smashing home a shot from the edge of the area.
French star, Franck Ribery made it three six minutes before the break before Gomez added a second midway through the second half to clinch Bayern's eighth straight home win of the season.
Schalke move up to second in the table after an impressive 3-1 win over Hoffenheim.
Veteran Spanish striker Raul handed the home side the lead in the 28th minute before Bosnia striker Vedad Ibisevic equalized for Hoffenheim in the 63rd minute.
But two goals in three minutes from Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (raising his league tally to 10 this season) made sure of the points for Schalke.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund drop to third after a 1-1 draw at Stuttgart.
Germany defender Serdar Tasci put the home side ahead in the 22nd minute, before Lukasz Piszczek levelled the scores in first half injury time.
Borussia Monchengladbach move up to fourth in the table after a 2-1 win over Hanover -- both goals for the home side coming from Marco Reus.
Wolfsburg lost 3-2 at home to mid-table rivals Hertha Berlin with Pierre-Michel Lasogga scoring the winner for the away side five minutes from the end.
